Along dusty lanes dappled with mid-summer splender
Among climatis curling furtively in climb
The air is thick with fragrance of the morning
and Silence stretches out the length of time
In shadows deep that beckon one to slumber
On hills that rise from fields of tossing gold
The air is filled with breezes that will whisper
the quiet that does still till day is old

Perhaps some laden clouds will spill their treasure
and breezes escalate to tepid tempest fly
The air will break between the hailing deluge
till Silence once more kisses rain goodbye
Dust will dry again to rising billows
Climatis drinks till drops are hard to find
But air will carry moisture it remembers
and Silence once more stretches length of time

If a man has not discovered something he is willing to die for,his life is not worth living.

Another very nice submission and I shall remember this as my clematis winds its way around all the poles this summer.  Nicely done.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Geoffrey, yes indeed, and when it is the serenity type of silence, it can be so beautiful to see the days lengthen by with blue skys and sunshine and that smile lying in the hammock and the daffodils! (smiles) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, you have my serene vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Geoffrey, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Thank you all for your votes. This was my original submission back in July,2000,under
"Geoffrey Sonnen".Doreen Peri read this offering on another poetry site and invited me to "Passions" because of it.I am hoping that I can finally have this published after all these years of turmoil. This was submitted in "Voices On The Web",but since I
became homeless shortly thereafter, there was no possible way to contact me for verification or consent. So,here it is again.

Thanks,Geoffrey

Geoffrey,

I really had to think to get the meaning here, but that may have been because it is 3 15 in the morning as I write this. LOL. I really enjoyed and will be back for another read when I am fully awake.

The rhyme, rhythm and reason of this very readable and deceptively simple piece generate a tranquil feeling as one reads, which is most compatible with the title and theme. The manner of your expression controls the matter in such a way as to create a poem of style and meaning.

I enjoyed it very much and have placed it in the library for further visits. I hope that my vote will bring the reward of my being able to also read it in the anthology!
