Band of Light
   reflected on the water...
like shining dreams that crease the rippling deep
The lowering sun in twilight seems to totter
upon the swells that rock me off to sleep

Hand of Night
   delivering Forever...
on a blanket woven from infinity
Shades of darkness wearing necklaces of silver
refracting on an ebon ribbon of the sea

If the tides should turn tumultuous on the morrow
If any gales would fill the sails within my soul,
I'll cast up to the heavens all my sorrow
Searching for that Band of Light upon the shoal

Sand of white
   that shimmers on the shoreline...
like promised dreams I'm beckoned to believe
that Winds of Fate would lead me to what is mine,
into a Band of Light that won't deceive

Land of Might
   uplifted by its weakness
Its strength found in the gentleness of Love
Dark side of Love that wraps me in its bleakness
Searching for a Band of Light issued above

(big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, you have my vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Geoffrey, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

These are powerful phrases, Street Heart,
each of them are descriptive morsels
and each could stand alone.
Powerful writing!

Thank you,Noah,for your generous words.

Thank you,Kacy. It's nice to hear from you again. How have you been doing?Have you become acclimated to Colorado?

Thank you so much,Chanson, for your powerful compliments.I'm glad you enjoyed this.I was going through the worst and most painful time of my life when I wrote this. This is
one of my personal favourites.I suppose I poured most of my heart into this and there is such a yearning to find peace and resolution.I'm sure that that is why you see the "power" in there.

Thank you,Spirit, for your appreciation and vote.

Sincerely,Geoffrey

This is the first of your poetry I've read. I think this beautiful, and each stanza special and heartfelt.

Wow, I am amazed with your writing, you have a way of making poetry reach out and grasp the person reading it. To be honest, I haven't found a poem yet of yours I haven't liked, and I can be fussy...LOL

Geoffrey...Words sometimes are just words, and other times (like now) are much more.  I tire of the word "beautiful", but this is.
