Between a laugh and a tear...

Eagle's Flight

O'er windswept ridge, soar on high
Caught far above, in tear blue sky
Scantly disguised, despair exudes
No peace, no love, just solitude

Respite amid the broken gums
Once pristine land, frigid river runs
The motley greys and ghostly blues
They bask aloud in nature's hue

Sallowed existence, might he live
Yet asking now, Who's to forgive?
What of the future, dare he to die
And questions still, Will the Eagle fly?

Will he live and fly indeed, and I took this poem two ways, and I trust both will carry on for a long time.

'No peace, no love, just solitude.'

Such is similar to what I seek some days...yet others I wonder how they can survive up there, so far from everything, in such a cold, lonely place. Or perhaps we are wrong, and they are warmer than we...perhaps that's why they fly so high. Closer to the sun.

Blessed Be Thee,

The Eagle always finds a way to fly. Now.. if he could only vote. Guess I'll have to do it for him.
