Little Star

Little star up in the nighttime sky,
Your brillance always catches my eye,
A star to guide the shepards to,
A new baby born, a life so true.

Little star millions of years old,
In your grasp, many stories you hold,
A chance I'd give to learn the past,
New lives began in a land so vast.

Little star just out of human reach,
In your wisdom many lessons you teach,
Shining upon a world so grand,
From prosperous cities, to small farm land.

Wishing upon the same little star,
You suddenly don't seem quite so far,
Seeing you, brings mankind peace,
And for a moment, distances decrease.

"Little star millions of years old,
In your grasp, many stories you hold,"

I love that you make the star active.
Yes...If only it could talk,
so many interesting
stories it would relate.
Well writ, Dawn.

When you think you have heard it all,
listen more closely.

Thank you all for your support and warm kind words on my poem. I have several friends and family throughout the world and this poem just helps me to feel a little bit closer to them.
