In Memory of
Mary Dean Arnold
June 1, 1922 - October 29, 1994

Grandma I miss you
I don't know what to do
I couldn't visit you much before you died
I am sorry for that

I remember you watching me when I was sick
Buying me presents
Like a momma and baby duck
That jump
Cabbage Patch Kids book
I'd look at a lot

I would have visited more
If I didn't have asthma
And you didn't smoke

Now I regret it
And I sit
Thinking why didn't I visit you more
I should not have let my asthma get in the way
But grandma
I still loved you
That is all I have to say

Cold hands means a warm heart

This is such a touching piece.. I'm so sorry that you lost you grandmother, but she knew how you loved her and she is very proud of you and your writing.

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee

What a lovely tribute to your grandmother. The feelings come across well in this one. We can't live our lives regreting what we did or didn't do, we've got to know that they knew we loved them and believe that with all our heart

As usual Julie, you write another of the best poems I've seen.

What is life without poetry and adventure?
"Little sister" is just another way of saying "Guardian Angel"!

This Poem Speaks!!! It speaks of your heart and the voice as read in this poem is perfect because I felt as if it was your voice. Your voice.... and that, my poet friend, I believe makes an excellent poem.  God bless.

Julie,
don't look back and blame yourself for something that was not your fault...i'm sure your grandma understood then and will be proud of this tender tribute

I think you miss you Grandmother as much as I do mine. I too, regret not being there enough. It's so hard to say goodbye.
I hope somehow she sees your poetic tributes.

Julie - What a wonderful and poignant tribute to your grandmother.  Very well written, too.
