The blazing torch, there bursting forth
Was luminescent for the world to see.
I with no recourse, you with no remorse,
When you took that brand from me.

My anger flashed, my spirits crashed,
                               As you surrendered to anxiety.
Trust, once dashed, is hardest to catch,
                               Even harder, when repeatedly.

The truth be said, it's better instead,
That, in myself, I not believe,
Than to gain regret, and lose respect,
When you rescind your trust in me.

The confession, Dear, the lesson here,
Applies equally for one and all.
                               When oppression rears, depression appears,
And we spend love breaking the fall.

If the torch is my test, do not second guess,
Let me try and even fail on my own.
Our love will bless the result regardless,
And we'll revel in the way we have grown.

BRAVO!!! Yes, in the pursuit of life and enlightenment of it, we must not despair, but rather reach out with love, and run this marathon and pass the torch on to others, who everyone is truly a brother and sister of each other to God! (big huggggsss) So achieve that second win....and you can win with loves perserverance, God Bless You, this has my Olympian vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sahring!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

The meter sort of caught in my mouth every once in a while, but otherwise, this is great.

And I love "we spend love breaking the fall."

Squirrel - Read it just a little bit slower and the rhythm seems to heal itself.  When I read it fast, I have the same catches (I assume).  When I read it slowly, it seems to flow smoothly.  hmmmm - a tempo issue if there ever was one.

Thanks one and all for your comments.  I was trying to say that it's better to let somebody try, than to step in and "just do it ourselves," even if their failure is possible.

As you would probably guess, I do like poems that are written with poems within poems. I also like the message here about learning within and/or from our disagreements and ultimately knowing that true Love will always overcome. Enjoyed reading your poetry here very much.

I enjoyed this poem. A good moral point...

This one skips along and it would be a shame if it was skipped for the book, so it has my vote.
