THE MYSTICAL NIGHT

Mummy has tucked me
In my bed so tight,
Told me she loves me
And turned of the light.

I must stay awake
Until all are asleep.
Then down the stairs
I will softly creep.

It is so shivery
Getting out of the down,
I slip on my slippers
And pink dressing gown.

Down to the back door
Quietly turn the key
Then into the garden
The faeries to see.

Good! I have arrived
On the hall clock chime,
This usually means
I am right on time.

The moon is so full
The stars are so bright,
I step joyfully,
Into the mystical night.

The fireflies lead me,
My way they will show
To the old elm tree
By their brilliant glow.

Then, in the magic
Of a large faerie ring,
We will dance and party
And might even sing.

At the centre of the ring
Is the Bumblebee Band
In black and gold stripe
They all look so grand.

Toadstools, all varied,
Are the table and chairs,
And small Pixie peddlers
Peddle their wares.

On each toadstool table
Sits a small pansy plate
A glow-worm lantern
Adds a light that is great.

I sip sweet nectar
From a yellow buttercup
And on golden honeycomb
I stickily sup.

A friendly witch,
Gives rides on her broom,
So much glorious fun
In the sky - to zoom.

Small gentle breezes
Do caress the air
And I am so happy
To be here, not there.

I am so very tired
I should go back to bed
The next thing I hear
“Wake up! Wake up! Old sleepy-head”.

I be me BUT who does me be?

I cannot express adequately how much I enjoy your poetry! You take me to the places where I like to go! Many of my earlier posts are about fairies, leprechauns, unicorns... worlds of enchanted forests where dreams come true. Thank you for the pleasure of reading your poetry!

Hi Spirit,

This is wonderful, one that should be told far and wide. So very much enjoyed.
