'and that is why this trail is not of sorrow
but hallow in the path it takes to certain sure
to find the lifting up of missing her is born
from a life never forsaken always worn and mostly now
the month when she stopped and winter became real
I feel her keen within continuations cycle
for every sigh I lift she with love heals'

I've read this several times and each time, this line...

'the month when she stopped and winter became real'

...has stopped my heart.  Truly remarkable Martie.

I didn't comment on this poem the first time I read it. I just didn't have words that were appropriate to express the depth of response it evokes.

Still don't.

Martie,  I reflect in some of the same ways
of my mother who died so tragically young.
Often wondering how she would be now,  how
would she look....and so much more...

Hugs to ya...

What I like best about your poem is your insight into regrowth. I love how you see from the charred woods new life appearing and how you can relate that image, you paint so vividly in our minds, with the lifting up of your sorrow of missing your loved one.  Your poem is full of strong imagery and again gives a very insightful message regarding how time and love have a way of bringing new growth to a deluded wood and healing to a sorrowful heart. Very well written and for me your poem is a poem that is full of healing and promise.

Dear Lady M,
I believe you incapable of writing anything but wonderous beauty no matter the subject.  Peace be to you and yours, and with vote in hand I say, "Brava."

P.S. Hmmmm, seems they have already given you the go ahead for book consideration.  All the same, a vote in spirit.
