Lauren~

I close my eyes and there in the shadows I see your light
You come to me out of my dreams
Across the night

I just came by to read the two of them together again, and wanted to make sure no one missed them.

Thank you so much, Sharon, Lauren and Red...Mom and Dad were the proverbial salt & pepper set of their group...

Very heartfelt and one for the book, Karilea

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

Ahhh Karilea ~ You have tugged the heartstrings with this beautiful tribute ~
"and this comes to her daughter, in days,
through touching wisps of fog in May,
or childhood’s blue of sky, or the feel of aging skin under fingertips,
as she recalls the way her mother’s felt at this age…" ~ How many, many days I have had these thoughts... drying tears...voting... Bonnie

Oh Karilea, you've left me speechless, deeply moved; the book is worthy of this

I came to my computer early this morning, opened my e-mail...and exhaled.  I couldn't believe I had mentally been holding my breath, but I had.

Thank you, my friends, for making it possible for this salt of the S&P pair of poems to make it into the book.

I don't know who all will be coming back to read this, but do know, I thank you, and will be thanking all of you individually in the days to come.

         Though she never held

          the babe from birth,

        but only days into weeks

           into months after, still,

           a connection of heart

                held them

The special love of selection without biology is the sweetest of this crowded earth.  D

Quiet

Seems I've misunderstood Silent Utterances.
Ron's spot on "Think before you Write".
He might have added --- read more before you write.
Sorry doesn't cover it.

Didymus,

It is certainly everyone's right to interpret poetry as they will. Thank you so much for passing by and lifting this poem up.
