I do hope this makes it into the book, to give the anthology a historical sense of time...thank you, Ecrivan...

Karilea,

To give the book an historical sense yes because there has never been a confrontation of this sort. The biggest threat to world peace is in upsetting those moderate regimes  who have so far supported American involvement in the gulf region and who have large islamic populations.

Lauren

When the sabres rattle I do get a feeling that there are many issues that America has overlooked in the MidEast particularly. I can understand their need to protect their interests but it is the scale of involvement which has me worried.

sorry i came late...my vote is cast for this emotionally-charged, yet unoffensive piece...the much food of thought factor is another plus

dgvarner,

Thanks for sharing.I don't see Iraqis waving American flags, unfortunately..and although some who have been televised are pleased that their oppressors are vanquished, they didn't go into thin air...so for that better day? that remains the challenge of the new millenium

Passing Shadow,

You're a great sport in bumping this up for me and that allows others who don't go to far down the postings to read...this is still
applicable as it seems now that there is a new squaring off of forces in the Mid-East.
