Ocean’s Rhythm

Waves rolling, rushing over the edge
Salty Ocean splashes millions of drops
Whenever she meets rocky line
Hugs him with endless needs
Flowing thoughts of oceans depths
Within the secret of sacred life

Sometimes she wants to share
As she opens her blue virginity
To show her inner treasure
Corals of gorgeous beauty
Rare oysters imply within a plea
of oceans mysterious future

Don’t rape her innermost beauty
Respect her sacred depths
Breath of life she shares
Within so many precious lives
Float upon stream of restless waves
Ocean’s rhythm guides rushing stream

(big hugggsssssssss) Oh Charisma, this brought me to tears reading this, thinking of the sweet little girl and her innocence and hoping she never changes and will always believe in such beauty! (wipes tears) I love children with all my heart and believe they are so special and it saddens me to see so many lose their innocence seeing the sorrows and abuse in the world and I want to devote my life to reaching out to the children with love, this deeply touched my heart so very much, God Bless this sweet girl and all the children and may love and grace be with them all, you absolutely have my vote on this, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Charisma, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I could see the personifications and parallels you drew here, with the language you chose to use (virginity, rape) and the fact that you applied a specific gender to your subject.  But I was really hesitant to decide whether this is a poem personifying the ocean, or oceanifying a person... then I read Noah's reply and it didn't help, as I was leaning more in the direction of a personified ocean.

Well now I'm just confused, but I'll settle with my own interpretation.  You've described beautifully both the ocean scenery and the innocence of childhood.  My vote is cast in your favour.

I see this as a social poem... with strong link between polluting the oceans (oil spills and all that) and corrupting childhood joys and innocence... but then I may be thinking tangentially...

Well in three words, I loved it

Thank you all for reading and I am glad you enjoyed this one, as it is one of my personal favourites.

In first place I wrote this piece for the ocean, as she (ok i personified it, maybe because I am a she too) have many sights to view. She can be calm and gloriues, wild and rough, but also very serene like a virgin. And I cannot stand it, that we human beings spoil the oceans with oil, chemical trash.....etc. etc. And yes I always try to link nature with my life experiences.  Maybe confusing, but well thats the way I am

But once again, I enjoyed all your replies and thoughts here.

love you all

(((hugs)))

This poem that you have chosen for your first choice I believe is a perfect choice for the book. It would be excellent if the graphic you chose could be included because your poem describes it so perfectly.... but, even without the graphic, your poem's imagery paints a perfect picture of the similarities between a young woman and the ocean. Your last stanza, from my perspective, describes in beauty and in unity how natural and wonderful procreation can truly be.
