Without Words

The morning comes
Like so many before
And I am empty
Of its pleasures
If my strength could,
Just push it back
Push the brilliant curtain,
Into the dark
Into the dreaming
Into my heart
The day is so eternal
Congregations of the silent
Voices without words
Voices without touch
Voices of the souls
Trapped in shells
Of crowded loneliness
Just a breath away
From the bliss
The bliss of laughter
The bliss of meaning
Just a breath away
from each other
In the night lives
The memories of
All their faces
The soft kisses
The whispered meanings
Spoken without worry
Spoken in the kisses
Spoken without words
The love of before now
Of other moments
Of other times
Of other ME's

I gather up the night
For its pleasure
For its need,
Cause it still speaks
Without words
To a lonely heart.

(big hugggsssssssss) I too feel this void and know it ever so well, sweet friend, it too can deeply ache my heart but I know deep down there will come many mornings like those with those words and songs and again through the day and into the night you won't be alone in your rambles and will find comfort through the shades! (sigh) This is deeply honest and heartfelt, sweet friend, you have my vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet James, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

very lovely (voted for)

reminded me of one of mine with the same title:

Without Words

I welcome the cool of morn
as it fans itself over my body,
chilling the heat from dreams
that drenched me awake.

You came to me, without words,
lips telling secrets touching off
a new rhythm to my heartdance,
leaving me breathless and out of step.

For you are my weakness, and
bleed me blue when I condemn myself
to only you, cradled in whispers of mine
to share a sleepless night.

I sense your every thought,
the desires of the moment in untitled feel.
When I am with you, I have found my place,
no more false starts.

And in the frame of time, you are my
morning comfort allowing me to surrender
to a journey, a pictured togetherness,
powered by a knowing, without words.

An interesting format, and an overwhelming concept.  Sad how we can sometimes stop to drink in the night imagery, and be rewarded with nothing more than a reminder of how alone we are.

I have missed you Parker. Think I'll vote for this one, so I can carry you around in that book, since you keep disappearing! *frown* but wink.

Have missed your words, m'friend.

Hi James.
Your thought process,
like waves cresting,
hitting the rocky shore,
and sliding back again...
this is how your poem read
to me. I enjoyed it very much.

Very touching poem, excellently penned.

Again thank you all for your replies. I've been so wrapped up in this boat thingy that I'm doing that my poetry seems to have slipped. I'm hoping that sailing on this great inland sea will inspire me to send you some words from the water.
