Summer is near,
I think I will swim.
Or watch the sun,
As it shall dim.

I sit here,
Feeling the heat.
If summer were here,
I'd be complete.

Things change,
As time goes.
Like the beautiful plants,
Summer shows.

The time flew,
Summers here.
All the flowers,
Start to appear.

The sun shines bright.
The crops start to grow.
The warmth turn to heat,
And the lakes start to flow.

Fish appear,
My poll in hand
I caught five bass.
Life is just grand.

(smiles) Ooohhhhh Chris, I love this one, I do believe poetry is the essence of the many simple pleasures in life, and they are perfect to read on a spring or summer morning or afternoon and I can imagine me reading this one while lying in my hammock! (big hugggsssssss) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Chris, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I wish I would get some votes though.. =(... I really would like to have at least one poem in the book.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Connel, if you want people to vote for you, maybe you should take the time to read and respond to their work instead of just dumping 5 of your own into the forum and expecting people to read them.

Connel, one of Ron's suggestions was to post one poem a week, so that people could have a chance to read, evaluate, respond, vote, and work on their own poetry.  Just as in any other forum, five poems in one day is a few too many.  Let's slow down, give people a chance to give all poems posted very considerate and serious attention, OK?  Thanks!

Catch me some salmon or yellow-tail, slice it up, put some wasabi and rice with it... I'm a happy man regardless of the season.

Hey, Connell

I don't know about everybody else, but I haven't told every person I voted for that I did.....and, did you read Ron's article in the Member's Area? And also he has a place for questions in the Member's Section of Discussions. He explains everthing about the book in there very well. Okay, friend?
Anyway, I hope that you read it. One of the things is that if you have a lot of poems, your automatic votes are divided among your poems. The more poems you submit, the less your automatic votes count.
Hope this helped, Buddy, but Ron explains it a lot better than I ever could.

Hugs from me to you

Ethel

(By the way, I really hope you get a poem in the book, too. I really do like this one a whole lot......)

Don't be feeling bad, I didn't read the rules and overloaded, but hey, I had fun and never anticipated making the grade. I liked this. I voted and it will bump you back to the top and maybe make a few more votes - Goodluck!

Nice writing, Connel. If it gets into the book, correct the spelling of "pole".

I was hoping someone besides myself would catch your spelling and grammatical errors,
so I wouldn't have to.  But if you want it voted for it should be perfect.  First I must say it is a fine poem in honor of summer.  Where you have summers  you mean summer is so you should write it summer's. Also it is not poll but pole. And warmth turns to not turn.  Now I will vote for it.  Joyce
