We're on our road to forever
Walking along this path of life
Hand in hand with each other
Soon to be man and wife

Looking on either side
Along this path we walk
We see many different flowers
Seeming as if to talk

There are roses everywhere
Colors beyond compare
Even with their thorns
We handle them with care

Birds are gently singing
For love is in the air
We hear the sweet melody
It seems to be everywhere

On either side of us
We see beautiful trees
With roots firm and strong
As our love has proved to be

When the gentle breezes blow
Or the storms of life cause harm
Our love will still be strong
As together we walk arm in arm

This is a very heart-warming poem.  I like the structure you've used, it does nicely with such a simple concept, in such a direct form of expression.

Good work.

What a vivid and wonderful description of the journey to come with your future husband (if this is about you!). I love the imagery, and I think this will fit into the book nicely.
