After All Midi File

Reassurance

Sometimes it takes a lifetime,
To find the one for you.
You may have even found him once.
And let him slip right through....
....your fingers....
And if you ever find him twice,
And roll the dice of life,
You hope and pray together,
You'll spend your last forever.

This is a love that does not die,
Not even at a distance,
And it will not waver,
When you're finally near.
To wait for someone special,
Someone to share your essence,
The pieces fit so perfectly,
Love will not leave, my dear.

I have waited for you,
To come back into my life,
I'll never let you go again,
Or love you any less.
You must be reassured of this,
Please put me to the test.
Your name will be the last thing said,
As I breath my dying breath.

And this will be the only time,
When our two souls do part.
I could never sever you,
From your place in my heart.
To hold my hand on a moonlight walk.
Sit beside me as we talk,
You'll look in my eyes and see,
All the love I have for you.
You and I as we.

This is sweet.  I like the conclusion, that you love not only the person, but the two of you as "we" as well.  Always important to remember that love involves two people, not just one... and each are equally deserving of your love.

Nice work.

Hi, Sherry! Long time no read! I just noticed that you moved to Toronto (from Windsor, was it not?)!
This poem was sooooo tender, sweet and loving. Very special! It was nice to read your words again!

Warm hugs,

Beautiful poem... I hope to someday have a love like that.

Thank you all for reading and writing your response.  I appreciate all your comments.  If you want to know the "True Love Story" that inspired this and many other of my poems, check out the link provided.  It is the story of waiting 13 years and the kissing of more than a few frogs....
