My Teacher
I know you are in Heaven,
My teacher shining bright,
Yet, I can not help but to hurt,
For your remembrance today.
I hear you, in my heart,
Telling me it's all ok,
Yet my tears flow,
For a special teacher like you,
I did not want to go.
I know there comes a time,
When we all must say goodbye.
Yet, I thought it would be,
My graduation day.
You smiling and proud of me.

I know in my heart, you are safe and sound.
Yet as I look around the school,
I know longer see, your eyes shinning bright.
I know what you wanted out of life,
To be a teacher and make a difference,
in our young lives.
You will not be forgotten,
You shall be missed.
BY friends, family, and students.

I am proud to say,
You were my teacher,
and will forever be my guide.
The lessons you shared,
will be cherished forever,
Through out our lives.
I know someday, we shall meet again,
You will be the teacher leading small angels,
and holding their hands.

Until we meet again,
know I'll always remember,
and look up to the teacher,
Who always did understand.
You are forever engraved, upon hearts of many.
You were a work of art, here on earth.
I Know God chose you,
For your Heart, ever so true.
Someday many of us will follow,
Just to meet you, once again.
Until then, we will do the best we can.
Making you proud of the good deeds,
you have shared, with us left here on earth.
While Heaven, has now become your turf.
Holding angels hands,
and sharing lessons of life and love.

(tears fall down my cheeks) We will all never forget Ginger, as she truly is a special angel who is now always looking down upon you, Larry, the rest of her family, and all her loved ones from heaven, continuing to teach us all and guide us with loving light! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, my prayers continue to be with you, all her other students and family, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kellie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

A touching poem of loss.  I like how you kept its somber tone even despite the fact that you spoke of hope throughout... a tone very appropriate for a poem of this subject matter.  Enjoyed the read.

Kellie,
I was there and know that this poem was written from your heart just as it was read from your heart at my daughter's funeral. Bless you for your tenderness and courage. You know this gets my vote.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Not only is this a loving tribute but it also shows the appreciation that students can have for their teachers. Teaching is a difficult profession--yet can be a highly satisfying and rewarding one as well. Your beloved teacher was one who made a positive difference and you are a shining example of that! This poem could be a tonic for any teachers who may read this lovely poem and its heartfelt sentiments.

Warm hugs,
EA
