How did I ever get into this......
she thinks as she gets ready
for another night
of work

Why couldn't I have just swallowed my pride
and admitted that I was wrong.....
she asked herself

As she was getting dressed and putting on her
short skirt that was so
tight she could hardly get it on
she thought back to when
she left home

The argument was so silly
Her parents only wanting
the best
for her

They only wanted her to quit seeing that one guy
so often
The one who she thought loved her so much
until they moved here
to the city

Now, where is he, when she's here
in this cheap motel room, getting ready
to go out in the freezing cold
to stand on the street corner
to wait for her next customer
so she can work at her
new job

She pondered these thoughts as she pulled
her flashy short top over her head
before she put on
her thick makeup
to try to cover up her young age and
some of her
tears

(In case you didn't know, I thought of this after I read Professor Gloom's poem about Valentine's Day)

Ethel, I saw from the "tag line" (I learned that term from Suthern today!) that this wasn't written from personal experience! tehe
--I should have known that anyway!--Gary would never share you with other men! tehehe

You certainly got into the skin of this character! I still can't help but wonder....lol

Warm hugs and wishes for a GREAT Vee-Day!

Ethel. Good read. I started to feel something for this young girl. Perhaps a tear of my own. Though I was a boy and never "walked the streets" I have been in her situation and know the feeling.
Thank you

Ethel,

Tsk! at Linda....smiling....

Yes, the title was a major hint. You left out the drugs, but this certainly seems to ring true of all I've seen on TV documentaries, etc...

How terribly sad... ugh! shivers, here.

Happy Valentine's Day, Hugs and Love,

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Ethel, this is so very sad, this made me cry as I think of so many poor girls and young women wanting to feel loved so much then the news hits them and how aching that must feel! (sad sigh) I just want to find my girl so very much so she won't have to cry anymore longing for love, this is touching, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing, and we wish a very...

....to you and Gary, yay!!! (does happy dance)

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
