Hello all, I haven't written much lately. I've lost my muse. All of you have been doing outstanding work from what I've been reading. Fantastic! Keep it up!  This peice has been sitting on my hard drive for a few months unfinished. Tried to work with it a bit this morning. Well, such as it is...

Ever After

She flashed like monday's
rude awakening to the
working world
She dressed in wishful
thinking, honest hearts,
a naive girl
She tied sin behind her ears
with  satin covered bows
wiped sleepless nights from
tired eyes,
Hopeful on the go

She invented
smiles through tears
humble pie, a staple
when others grind her bones
for bread
she eats the crumbs with maple
Frugal heart will not buy new
Rather, she will  mend
her tattered soul or broken
dreams, over and over again
Innocence has been her sword
Silence, a faulty shield
Kindness sometimes gives the
strength to bend cruel fate to will
Often though,  it's just enough
to paint another day
watery colored memories to
file then tuck away

Night time falls upon her yoke
to weigh her down to sleep
and if she dies before she
wakes,
she knows not one will weep
prayers form through nod &
yawn while aching bones
complain, she asks in all
humilty for strength to
rise again

Forty dawns & hardships
flashed so quickly out of sight
she glides through like an
apparition on a eerie
night
she weathers pity-
snobbish glares
with a bowed umbrella
she knows the key to
happiness  is not like
cinderella

honesty, humility, &
hunger for the truth
are three things that
motivate all she finds
to do
the most important thing
of all she copies from above
what hopes all things, endures
all things and never fails,
is love...

she flashed like monday's rude
awakening to the working world...

Thank you passing shadows, I do hope you are right. I miss writing on the fly. *smiles*

Brad, I'll be sure and check under my bed. That's the one place I did not look.

Noah, you never fail to touch me with your kindness. Thank you!
