Listening to every heart

Konrad’s Trip

It had been tiring, that last trip;
he wondered, should he,
would he contact

Iambe, Dillon,
and Jake.

That damned trip to Chi-town
took more out of him
than he cared to
relive,

and it was no relief to be rid of
the baggage
of the days, but the
gear of the past would not stay
locked away,
like a confiscated article
that one would rid themselves of,

and Konrad’s mind flicked a light,
as he thought of
the mystical Pandora’s box,
how well all these annals fit,
with all that should be shut away,

and he feared opening it,
feared the light dimming in Iambe’s
eyes,
feared the shuddering of Dillon,

but mostly,

panic, over how Jake would react.

He only knew
that the blues that he brought back
from Chi-Town
would tremble his bones
and pluck at his sinew…

if he just did not have to say
anything
to Iambe.

After all, dead, is dead.

Karilea,
I have that to be true too.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Karilea...super addition as the story continues.  Wonder what Dillon is doing, maybe I should go see if I can find her.
