Unspoken Words

Could you have ever known
That every time I feel it,
I don’t say it.
I don’t’ say the words,
I miss you.
Because those aren’t words to be spoken
Words that I deny myself.
Truth is…
I really don’t need anything else from you.
But just your mind
To intrigue me.
Your eyes
To remember you by.
Your lips
To express yourself.
Your ears
To listen to my thoughts.
And your arms
To crawl into them
Whenever I need the comfort
That only they give me.
I miss you
When these things
I cannot find in you.

To hear our beloved say "I missed you" is so beautiful!
And you said it lovingly.

This poem was written a few years ago, but I know I'm going to miss her again when she leaves to grad school this summer. That's just how the story goes sometimes. Thank you for sharing your thoughts...
