Around the circle of Love's fire,
a few hardy souls still sit,
silently casting twigs of Hope
to stir up the embers for Peace.
Darkest thunderclouds gather nearby,
ominously, waiting to strike
and drown the messages
the elders offer,
once again.
The Pipes of Peace
are far too empty tonight.
The sacred circle appears
to have a broken link.
I fear the opening
is a passageway to Hell,
gifted to us by that Darkest King,
the Death of Dialogue.

This is a very strong poem. But I liked the way it was expressed. Awesome write.

Where is Logan...hes the keeper of the fire...Is it too late to nominate him for president? You pass the peace pipe and I'll throw some more sticks on the fire...we cant give up.

Julie, thank you, friend.

JM? Yes, I was wondering if he might have wandered off into a sunset, hoping to ignore all the naughty children who aren't listening.

Clever, clever, clever!  Really sank in after the 3rd reading.  Is a scary time, isn't it?  (need I ask?)

Powerful and frightening write.Trying hard to stay off my soapbox let me just say, this truth you share sucks. My thanks to you for posting it and I support you in your quest to once again have light prevail.

Live like it's your last day...
Dance like nobody's watching...
Love like you've never been hurt...

Robert, the third time is a charm? LOL. Thanks for reading.
Ray, yes, it really is scary, and I'm afraid that we may be getting into a much worse case scenario this time around. Let's hope the UN membership will take the helm and some semblance of sanity will prevail.
