"Do you love me?"
She asked.

The man gazed at the women,
As the story of
Her -
Unfolded within his mind.
He smiled,
And simply nodded.

Looking within his eyes,
Reading the story told,
She returned the smile.
She recognized
The nod.

This is the story
Told within a simple
Gesture -
This is the story behind the nod.

~ You ask me if I love you,
And I can only nod my head.

And yet -

Your every touch
Feels like home

Your voice
Sounds within me as sweetened
Laughter.

Your ears
Hear my cry
From a thousand miles away.

Your heart
Beats as the only rhythm of my world.

Your soul
Mingles as my own.

And still -
You ask me if I love you.
And I can only
Nod my head.

And yet you know.

I'm left with a smile too.
Thanks, I needed one of those.
Its amazing what can be said.. through a look and gesture.

Always, Alyssa

I suppose if you recognize his nod
then you understand what he's saying.

But those three little words speak volumes, and if they are truly felt then why not shout them from the roof top!

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed your poem very much Ericc.

(smiles) Awwwwwwwww, it can be so saddening though to see the nod just being a lie to itself, I think how you can really tell if the nod is faithful and true is by the smile on ones face at the same time! (big hugggssssss) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Eric, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

You've done it again....
Leaving me feeling jealous of the one you so romantically pour your heart out to.
She must be something special to stir all the emotions to create these poems...
even if you don't say it out loud... ~ sigh ~

Absolutely beautiful and so true.  I love it even more than the last one I read of yours.

"Your heart beats as the only rhythm of my world" ...
What else could have been said?
This is music for ears, when eyes are not satisfied with a nod!
Wonderful!

Wonderfully said, beautifully written...    He answers her, not with words, but he does answer her... with a gesture... a way for her to know without a sound... and this is all that she could want.

Thank you... I love this poem.  A very sweet story told.

Love,
Moca
