I’ll Weep No More

Your spirit leaves with death’s cold shade
Into the night your soul will surely fade
Now is the hour, the cold time of this
The taking of my heart’s only bliss
And I’ll weep no more, nor will I sigh
There aren’t any more tears I can cry
If I filled the ocean it wouldn’t suffice
This love was beyond any teardrop’s price

Weeping can’t bring you back to me
Nor red eyes or sobbing hysterically
Whatever happens this much I know
That between us two true love did flow
And crying no matter how long for
Won’t make things as they were before
Death can’t be made better by tears’ rain
Oceans of tears can’t wash away pain

Now though your spirit has gone from me
I’ll feel the touch of your love endlessly
Some might think I should wail or weep
But they don’t have the memories I will keep
They might think that crying is right
But that won’t keep me from pain’s sight
So I’ll not snivel about my sorry state
I’ll simply accept this as my destined fate

Crying and sobbing might be what others do
But I’ll hold to the wonder that was me and you

I just want you to know that for one, this was beautiful.
And I just applaud your holding to memories and realising that holding the bad doesn't help... but know that tears do soothe.
And also, thank you for this... a friend died last night... after a long fight.

but when your spirit waivers, in grief, in thought,
please remember that the love you gave Jack, is also within the rest of us
who love and adore you, Marsha.
