Guardian Angel

By Peter J Marcroft
You'll probably say your partner loves you most,
That one person that makes you feel great,
To love, children and marriage you'll toast,
Shunning away all thoughts of hate

It is lovely to see such happiness,
As you walk together on the shore,
A relief from the dreary wilderness,
May your love last forever and more

But, we all know that things must end,
At some point or another, such is fate,
No matter how protected by a human friend,
There will come a point when they're too late

Then the love you've had you'll doubt,
In desperation for mercy you'll sing
For someone, to pull you out,
Of the slow encroaching ending

Often, a person will die,
After all you're only flesh,
And then your body will peacefully lie,
And your spirit will fly, to somewhere fresh

However, some of you are blessed,
A rare being chosen by destiny,
Protected are you, from the world of the dead,
A part of life's mystery

To those who are chosen, listen well,
For there are eyes watching over you,
Dead spirits you once knew well,
With boundless love, they guide you through

The intertwining path of life,
Sharing in your delight,
Easing the burden of your strife,
Encouraging you to keep up the fight

We are children of god and heaven,
Agents of the holy place,
Watching our mortal brethren,
In case of dangers they may face

Live life well and enjoy the aid,
Given to you by the lord's disciple,
Do honourable things and love shall be repaid,
By your unknown guardian angel.

Appreciated the thoughts here. Guardian angels seem to know when we need them the most...some are called friends.
There are some loves that are immortal...they become the watchful...

I find the concepts very interesting, with much to mull over.  I enjoyed this a great deal.
