I suppose fingers can be lifted then pointed
arms and legs bent at points...disjointed
I suppose there is direction from the puppet master
a tug on the strings for limbs to move faster...

pay your dues when you are born
eat your way through crops of corn
pay your way into senility...all too soon
eat your dinner by the pearl light of the moon.

I suppose that reawakenings are everyman's due
reminders will warn him what to go through
he'll remember to carry identity cards in his wallet
go through predicted motions set up at secret ballots.

I suppose that health is the most important thing
prosperity is vain when budgets hang by strings,
guess I'll be a witness to more of the same
failures as before
guess that's why we're still here on the bottom floor.

Ecrivan excellent write, and a glaring but accurate prediction. If I may make one between you and I the Habs will continue to stink with this defence of theirs. Don't know if you follow or not just though I'd mention it if you did, because the team is running about as smooth as our government and you know how good that is..

Aenimal,

Oh our government 'obeys', almost like a good lab retriever. And I can't believe the Habs have come to this after the days of Rocket Richard and his entourage..maybe I'm a little too nostalgic of the Belliveau days

Nan and Nancy

I get the feeling sometimes we are all at ground zero..terrible thing to say..maybe that's the feeling many people feel with war hanging in the air...

All I can say about this is sometimes it's good to be on the bottom floor, especially if you're afraid of heights

I can't boast of the Richard era but I was born during the 70's dynasty. I was lucky to grow up with Roy and Carboneau as my heros and it breaks my heart to see what's its become.
