Toward the beauty of the rose
no words could ever lend
Nor lofty heights of poetry
could poets endless pen
What orb might bright illuminate
or to the sun attend
To clothe her in magnificence
God alone doth she depend

To All, Thanks for making my first post such a rewarding experience!  I realize the poem is not substantially 'personal', but at least I got my feet wet.  I truly look forward to taking that next step!

Sincerely,

normally, I'm not very fond of poems about roses, but.....

"Toward the beauty of the rose
no words could ever lend
Nor lofty heights of poetry
could poets endless pen"

this is stunning
