It's late at night
but visions of sugar plums
aren't dancing in my head
and the sheep are all
in the barn.
Go to bed,
says my muse,
and leave me alone!
Haven't you done
enough for one day?
Maybe, I smartly replied
to that sassy muse,
but until the moon slips
behind the restless Rockies,
or upon the black iced streets outside
my brain refuses to stop
convoluting
all over
these pages.
Yuck,
says my muse.
That sounds disgusting!
Say goodnight, Midnite,
before the Sandman
buries you
in an hourglass
of reverie.
Goodnight,
Midnitesun,
this muse is
done
for now.

That's what you think!
Silly muse, always telling me what to do and what to say.
But I always have the last word.

With who? Now I'll go read the poem!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

goodnight?
whats sleep?
..rest is the comfort I find in the reality and stillness of picking up my pen, and dreaming.
But I don't sleep! lol
I hope you sleep well though, this was great.. I think a familiar conversation with one's self.

LOL at your Q, Larry.
Where did I leave my teddy bear?

GG, yes, I have a feeling I'm not a solo act.

LOL, Alyssa, you are as bad as me!
Sigh, I really do need to stop this for at least a couple of hours. Five AM is going to look brutal tomorrow.
Goodnight, I'm pulling the plug for now.

Five AM is brutal any day! Six is what I get... but see I won't sleep, that way I don't worry about waking up.

goodnight
sleep tight,
don't let writer's block bite.

Always, Alyssa

I think mayhaps the problem is that you irretrievably connected the Sun to Midnite... There's an inherent dilemma here... How can you expect to get any sleep with the sun ALWAYS shining on you??... You chose the name, though.. So now, I think you just might be stuck with the midnite muse... Now you pay the price... Just keep writing and we'll keep reading... (maybe you can sleep during the day?)...

LOL, did I really post this last night?

Sugar plums...I don't remember Kaile, maybe it's something to do with an old Holiday memory?

Yes, Nan, I surely did this to myself.

Thanks for reading my silliness, Ethel and Dr. Pepper.
Now for another 40 winks....
