Shhhhhh…do you hear that? A zillion heart beats…rapid in time Cupid’s drum, each beating singing in rhyme However, you are four hundred miles away Cupid’s drum beats far and near Some say even in the distant It’s unmistakably clear The mating call of my heart to yours Beats uncontrollably, rings loud Yet whispers softly, lovingly Stands tall, and oh so very proud Yet, should our love become lost, heart beating for you, yearning for you dear I’ll fire three shots So Cupid can find me here If that doesn’t work If cupid doesn’t hear I’ll fire three more For my love to come near And finally while I anxiously await I’ll follow the straight and narrow In hopes that cupid joins us soon As I’m down to my last arrow |
