Show me what it means
To dance again;
To innocently love
And trust.

And show me how
To smile,
When hope has fallen
In the dust.

I have fought
And I have conquered,
Which I learned
From all the best.

But I’ve taken
Fewest moments
To let my eyes
Find rest.

I’ve been beaten
Scarred and tortured.
I’ve been wounded,
Left to shame.

My innocence,
Unknown.
And my face,
Without a name.

So teach me
With your sweetness,
And show me
With your care,

What it means
To live life worthy,
And be smiling
In despair.

Midnitesun,
Thank you for the sweet words, so kind of you And thank you also for simply reading and replying.

Bill,
Thanks so much. All our hearts have a soft and tender place, though we all have a callous and pained place too. What I wanted to shoot for was a heart purely of love.

Pat,
Thank you, I think the title was my favorite part in the words of it all too. Glad you enjoyed. Hugs, and love.

God's Blessings to all
Always, Alyssa

Alyssa,
beautiful sentiments. indeed, we must learn to smile, with dignity intact always, especially so when we are in defeat.

I really enjoyed that last stanza--so much of life is really about learning to smile and move on, even though our hearts are breaking.

Kaile,
yes, when we are in defeat can be the hardest times to learn, and when we can't see the picture of whats going on. Thanks for your reply.

Dixie,
We can learn together

El Campeador,
Thank you, and I agree. And in smiling ~fake~ you gain only more sadness.

It's all found in the single act of...Letting go.
Surrendering to the greater love that is life itself.

These are deeply beautiful words GG...that could only spring from a deeply beautiful heart.

GG,

I have to say that I feel most blessed that you have shared your beautiful heart with us.

Thank you for sharing your beauty with us! It radiates from your words like sunlight. Let your song of your heart never cease to play; let this soulful dance never end.

Love,
Moca
