Don't talk to  me of war

it makes holes in oceans
and rips the sand until it hovers over cities
with grains of fear
and writes with the blood of the brave until
there are only stone tablets
with the words beloved

talk instead of cold seawater and sand
and the sweater you will make of seaweed
in that cave beyond the waves
where you kiss my fear to quiet
or of that stripe of sun that finds us
and colors you deep into my eyes

shhh  close the warrior that would
tumble across eternity weapon ready
and open your eyes

I am unclothed
my fabric of protection falling around me
drape me with dappled light
warp the line of sky with heat
and drown the fighter
until you are my peace

then call me love

You speak softly, but wow, what a stick!

I love the way you take little, soft and personal images and weave them into something that is so much more.....

Martie ... your words amaze me, as always. What a beautiful weave. You've taken the darkness of fear and war, and turned it into love in a most spellbinding way. Very much enjoyed your thoughts.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Martie,

Yes, you are quite a weaver; taking reality and knitting it into a most soft and loving fabric of fantasy, as only you can do in this special way you have with words. So talented, you!

Enjoyed greatly,
