I was attempting to see an affair in a different point of view - I wonder if anyone ever thinks about this part of it, when they are caught up in the "heat" of the moment....

No matter how discreetly,
No matter how softly,

We let things play out….

Someone will be hurt
Someone will cry

Whether it’s me…
                 Or you…
                        Or Him…
                               Or Her…

Someone’s life will be over…
Someone’s dreams will be shattered…

And after the dust settles

               – If we are the “Victors” –

Can we be happy together?

               Knowing the devastation we caused?

Satisfied maybe, but happy about it? Doubtful. A good write.

Yes, this really should make people think
first. I don't think some think it out
before they start an affair. Some probably
would never start it if they did.

A good poem....

It's so rare that an affair ever brings with it anything but loss and heartache. Seems the final goodbye isn't really the end, as what we knew is changed forever. I appreciated your thoughts on this subject, very well written, and full of truth. Excellent!

A truly happy person is one who
can enjoy the scenery on a detour!

Consequences...what a concept. Seems in the "heat" of things people aren't thinking that far ahead. Hopefully the right people will read this one. Excellent write, as usual.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Its good to see someone thinking about it.
Because you're right, someone is always hurt.
Enjoyed
