I

Oh I remember that very first day,
You were so young and full of adventure
And I had hoped you would come my way.
'Though known only to my wistful future
Often in distant gaze I wondered by
What miracle you would be transported
To discover this heart held openly,
And, yes the delight of being courted.
Then there you were, dreamfilled and winsome!
I was speechless as I gazed upon you
So vital, earnest, confident and handsome;
And then I wondered could you love me too?
While time was brief in that space our love grew,
While time was brief the other's heart we knew!

II

I remember our coming together,
Its play, delight and sweet exploration;
Treasured too the days that followed whether
Summer's Warmth or Winter's Desolation.
Together a home was lovingly formed,
A place where a heart's embrace could be had;
'Specially when the soul feeling stormed
Has the need for a balm and to be glad.
Refuge and shelter from weathers severe,
Gardens to nourish and gladden the way,
Within me the joy that none could come near;
Such sweet pleasure renewing us each day.
But time is a gift with gifts of its own
And time is a gift with pathways unknown

III

Yes I remember and do so in sighs
The days and years that will never return;
In moments that came with gilt-edged skies
And left trailing silver with ne'er a spurn.
Invited we were to each successive day
To a communion so rich and so sweet
That never the card did we put or lay;
As we refreshed the paths of our feet.
I was blessed and so were you to know
The love that was wonderfully shared
And when the time came for us to part
We were tearfully glad that we had paired.
That time was ours in which to live and dwell
Yes that Time was ours and we spent it well.

God bless and keep you, Namaste!
Boh
