Quatrain

When minor is serious,
And serious becomes critical,
There is nothing humorous
And all is emotional.

Cinquain

Minor
Now serious
Everything’s critical
Emotional without humor
Fearful

Sijo

What was minor turns to serious, humor turns humorless
Eyes once glisten now is haze, listen only through the days,
Offspring caring for the parent, sitting emotionally spent.

Thank you, Cpat Hair,
Pleased you enjoyed,
No humor survived the weekend to make in the words,
But with me, it seldom does.

Thanks, PG... You know I love seeing poetic formats grace the boards... We've gotta work on making you smile at least a little bit, my friend...

Professor,
Well you don't have to rub it in.
Excellent work, how about a day off for a smile or two.

Thank you, Nan,
I find working with forms good for the spirit,
I am attempting to compile a list with explanation for my site.
I am pleased you could enjoy this work

Thank you, regards2you,
I am glad you are able to pull a bit from my writing
I appreciate the kind words.

Thank you, Seymour,
Not trying to rub it in,
But my mood tend to rub off,
I do attempt to moderate it for this forum
And keep the death and destruction to a minimum.
Glad you liked.

Thank you, Sunshine.

What an excellent exercise! Doing this kind of thing would make anyone a better poet.
