The Wink of a Wink

The trip wears the soles of my blues
Turns them into dirty brown hues.
Worn to a base of callus feet
Echoes the echoes of my defeat

How long is the way to a goal?
Evers horizon of my soul
Where is the key to let me in?
Does it negate the symbol sin?

Omnibus passes me by
When flesh goes, does the spirit vie?
Are I but host to changing coast?
Or be I but a roast to toast?

It’s the darkest of drink to think
We are gone, the wink of a wink
And nothing is left in the spell
Except the odor of the smell

My dragon blows this insane
In truth, am I really this vain?

yes, what will they say about me when i am gone,
did i even matter at all?
or do i leave as nothing, going back to nothing, never mattering at all. , all very sobering at times, isn't it?

"Vain" is not a word that's synonymous with "Seymour" - But good morning poetry is...

No, Sy...

like all humans, we wonder whether or not we bring a change
or are we merely atoms of time, rearranged...
and whether the ripples of finger to pond dispersed,
or are we merely a voice once again rehearsed...

Could those lines be any cooler?
Look at all the metaphors, symbolism, and word play. Nothing insane nor vain here.

(smiles) Oh Seymour, this is lovely, sweet friend, the darker the brew the richer the aftertaste can be and the richer the more satisfied and sanctified a day can be approached! (big hugggsssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Seymour - I don't believe you are vain, just a man with a very tender heart filled with compassion. Your writings I read, and see this...

I enjoyed this Sy, it does not relate vanity
as much as it does get you to think about why we are and where we are going...like Sunshine's reply too

Sy,
You are likely not going to fry. But you do indeed ask old questions in new ways. Excellent write.
