somebody's dungeon

The reflection isn't always me
it's someone strange that I see,
looking back with saddened eyes
sans the cover of disguise,
with tears of years now gone
a stranger I stare upon.
Such bitterness in smile
arrogance in style.

The mirror, a liar, a con
full fist, the image gone.

Your photo and poem are soooooo sad... A rose of such beauty and grace should reflect the sun, not the dark side of the moon. Your gentle and tender heart appear to have been bruised. Let this healing angel kiss your wounds and make you better!

Warm healing hugs and angel kisses,
EA

Yes, sad indeed. But understandable if one has even felt self-hatred. I have broken a mirror once for that very reason. Not a good space to be in.

Don't know just how close this is to your reality, but I do know by personal experience self-forgiveness and not having to be perfect, not STRONG, were the necessary factors to heal....I have done some very dumb things in life causing great hurt to those who depended on me and loved me. No matter their pain, I think I suffered most with the self-loathing.

This is a good poem. I do hope you are doing okay....thank  you for this.

Hugs,  Pat
