I'm a wreck

I'm content
with who i am.

She says worthless fool
you cant handle it
loser.
Forget it.

I say
before cutting into me
sort out your own
Happiness.

Then you will see
how important it is
to be accepting of who
someone is
despite them
not being like you.

differences in people are sometimes hard to accept when the core beliefs or values seem at odds with the actions of another. Understanding where we find our happiness and how others may or may not accept our understanding is a lifetime job.

Sounds like "you" are wiser and more "together" than "she" is. I like the way you structured this poem. Very effective.

I think some people would tear apart anything just so they can know everything else has faults; it makes them feel as if they have less faults.

Oh Gemma,

This is rich in ordinary life.
I like this and reminds me of many.
Sometimes....said quietly....it really is a lack of communication...so important for me was it to learn to listen, (not mind/behave) Hear what others are trying to say...especially when raising my children....one thing I learned and am still learning is that someone's reality and feelings are valid. Period! When I honor that it is honoring them...even if I don't agree with them, doesn't matter...tho. grown now, it stills comes up...I try to remember they and others in my life are their own person...like you have explained in this poem....

this did bring back memories..

(sigh) Oh Gemma, yes, yes, stay true to who you are for people are not always going to agree with you, I know this because I love my mom and family so much though we disagree over so many things and other people I know! (big hugggsssssss) This is heartfelt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Gemma, thank you for sharing!
