(my phoenix poem)

I arise
up
up
out of these ashes of
defeat
despair
desultory dreams
shake myself
spread my wings
and soar
up
up
upwards
ever
higher
into
nothingness
but blue sky
and pure light
here I
gasp
and
with a
scream
am
born again
