Suddenly the coffin's shudder boils the crimson blood
Full alert each fiber ever wondering just if it should
Be creak, and clank of old forgotten bits and spiny barks
Storm the graying mists as this imagination sparks

And silent hedge within the gut in shivers to the core
Upsetting what could be a peacefully spent moment more
Be slight, the night will walk upon the craggy gallowed hills
And take the hand of moments stand and leave in icy chills

The twist of necks to see the hidden creature of the night
Where for art thou boogeyman, or painted native rite
Be still, the drums beat louder as the dawn of some portend
Yet thee will walk in trance and shiver bitter til the end

The horrid stench of rafters reeking of foul rodent spoil
Beneath the floor a witch’s bubbling cauldron slowly boils
A hideous howl, a hoot of owl, shrill screech of flying bat
the long black tail of a sinister and furry sitting cat.

Creaks and groans of lifeless limbs that edge the boggy mire
where things go bump beyond the light of their blazing fire.
As napes are raised by the sound of what is surely dead
another pair of eyes shine back from a dark and hooded head.

The rusted gate upon the hill now slowly opens wide
to the headless rider on the lathered horse’s ride.
A bird of black flying down out of the darkest night
landing on the shoulder in the headless rider's flight.

By what is right and true the desolation of extreme
To squint into the darkness untrusting what is seen
In shiver of impetuous and chanted songs too bold
A fearful wash in solitude around the heart will hold
And a quiet but chilling rasp....whispers “Evermore”...

You two sure know how to make the wind howl and cast an eerie spell.

Such wonderful visuals throughout,
kind of scary though!  *shiver*

Quite a dynamic duo you make~

Certainly an intriguing, descriptive story
I wouldn't want to read alone during a
thunderstorm. And a collaboration well
done~

Barry, are you sure she forced you into this?
If so, it seems you have successfully lured her over to the Dark Side--and very well at that!

Congratulatory hugs to you both!
