Softly does she roar
over mountains and shore.
Only upon waves of love
can she soar
to the highest
realms of Peace.
Touching down
upon earthly ground
brings fear to her heart,
fears that she will be consumed
by all the flames of mankind,
not-so-kind after all.
She knows she is no Phoenix,
and will not arise
from the ashes
and the dust clouds
of the nuclear weapons
poised to launch,
designed for death
and destruction.
No, this jade dragoness
shall soar above all this
and seek safe haven elsewhere,
unless in her search
she finds a glimmer of
Hope and Understanding,
stronger Rocks than Gibralter
upon which to land
and lay her eggs.

What a great read.  I don't know what I was supposed to take away from it but I felt as though a search was underway for stability, security and safety...aren't we all?  We can only hope a place (or person upon perception) like that does indeed exist in a world like ours in which uncertainty is the only certainty.  Thanks again!

I really like this. At first I was going to say all but the last line.
I re-read it and decided, no, that is good,too.....

enjoyed this a great deal,

Wobbly, inked, Pat, innersense, shadows
Thank you very much for taking time to read and reply to this.
Pat, I did feel that last line was a bit awkward, but hoped it did convey my fear for future generations.
