The Transformation

I crawled to you
defeated,
weakened,
a shell
empty
and cast aside.

You saw beauty
where I saw scars;
offered solace
when I needed it most;
and sheltered me
in the midst of life’s storms.

I clung to your branches
fearing the fall.
I drank from your nectar
thirsting for life.
I hungered for tranquillity
and fed on your touch.

Unperceivable,
the changes came
'till I emerged
from the cocoon
of your arms
spreading delicate wings
to fly.
The transformation complete,
I was reborn
in the beauty of love.

~ Ruth

Completely beautiful.  Every word rang true with its own lovely thoughts.

I bleed, you all read, and may the blood never stop spilling for loss of emotion would be all too damning.

Quite beautiful.  Can't wait to read more of your work.
