Why I Write

I have a sense of humor but it hardly every shows.
My serious of nature seems to write itself in rows.

Accolades are wonderful, friendships hold their own.
I write because I feel myself in every word I've shown.

Sometimes I seem to feel the love that fantasies can build
and wrap them 'round to warm the chill within my unfulfilled.

I can also write the sorrow that invades my life at times.
But even then I right my heart in words I've strung in rhymes.

It doesn't matter how I write, if aimed or led astray.
If you can see yourself in line, you share what I convey.

I work the definitions and the synonyms to death.
I hope that when all's said and done you stop to catch your breath.

I know at times I may seem down and words can hurt to read.
Just play them once or twice again and twist what seems like "need".

It all plays out, these words of thought escaping from my hold.
I write to right from inside out as nakedthoughts unfold.

~M~ for you...why we write...

"Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less."
(Will Moss)

and i for you, am glad you feel the need, cause it is from the inside out, which is hard sometimes when to draw the line, being on display and all out in the open, but your
words come off ringing of truth

Ethel and inkedgoddess, I  don't know if I can speak for all...but for myself I write as a daily diary and if my poem is sorrowful or sad or even upset then that is how I am feeling and if it is too much for someone to read then they can skip over me...I can understand not wanting to read sad if it brings you down..and my titles  let it be known what mood I am in.
I try to  feel strong and happy...but I AM A MOONCHILD..and am cursed with being oversensitive to life

JanetMarie..thank you. Sometimes there are those who wish we would cheer up and write happy when all we need is a kind word to get us through a rough day...until the sun shines on us again.

hugssss

Accolades are wonderful, friendships hold their own.

But that only holds true when the feeling is reciprocated.  Thanks for always being here with a kind word and for the friendship you've shared with me.

I love this poem but I love your heart more.

Hugs Maureen~

The best poems are those
dressed in comfortable
clothes

and best unclothed
when they fit
the skin we're in.

I'm enjoyed your insight~

Hello Maureen

I for one can relate so very well to each and every word you have written.  Your heart always shines in everything you write and you are always a pleasure to read.  I hope all is well with you.

Take care....Sue

Guilty as charged!

Another bullseye for nakedthoughts!

Every time you write, at least one thing that you say (and usually more) describes me with horripilating accuracy.

~ I can relate...this is the why I write, not for the accolades, although they are okay, but to express my feelings in words.

Enjoyed.

Ratleader...oh so you are guilty now..I thought that was one of my traits *s
A bull's eye? I have the worst aim. I do not and never will have a good throwing arm..but I have learned how to toss my words around.
thank you Ed.

Dixie, and I am glad you also write and post here.

Opeth, not usual for me to write in couplets..sometimes they just start out on their own and I must follow...I always enjoy your visits. Thank you for this one.
