For Senior Professor Milton Rich

They wanted to make him Departmental Head.
"Think of the challenge," they offered
"Who the hell wants a challenge," was all that he said,
And laughed at the money they proffered.

When they pencilled him in for Honors Symposium
He was offended once more:
"I tell you that I have had Honors ad nauseum.
I want to even the score."

"Sign me up for the deadheads, the incoming fools
Of Remedial English '01',
At least they're creative; I'll give them the tools.
It's time that professing was fun!"

I knew this guy! His actual comment was a bit more colorful: "Who the hell wants to be challenged allatime? I just want things to go along smooth, and do what I live for around here. I'd rather teach the worst boneheads you've got than run this popstand!"

Ed....A touch of humor in you and some character in the professor...I like both.  Thanks.

This group, and you in particular, have started me writing again. The Leader Of The Rats can't thank you enough for that!

Well - I've taught the entire spectrum myself... As nice as it is to have a bright student soak it in like a proverbial sponge... It surely is sweeter to have the remedial learner say, "OH - I GET it!!"...

The professor professes proficiently...
