Fervent Pleas

he begs for my attention
tugs at my hands
should they grow idle
or give their attention elsewhere

longing for caresses
continually he pleads
should I grant him his pleasure
of a stroke or three,

it’s not enough,
he begs more from me.
looking up at me
pleading with his deep
yellow eyes,

rubbing his head
upon the computer desk,
attempting to appease
his need for attention
for my touches.

I relent,
pulling him onto my lap
stroking his back
with tandem hands
his purrs rumble thanksgiving.

on his high perch
he looks about,
rubs my chin
bumps it, too.

resting on his haunches,
at peace,
he snuggles
and clings with his eight
extended nails, purring solitude

They DO decide when it's time to pay attention to them, don't they?... This is a perfect portrayal, VAS... You've captured him perfectly...

Thanks, Nan. Or has he captured me? :smiling:

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
