As evening paints a sunset, across sky's western face,
I soar above on winds of time, on wings of feathered grace,
In the distance, mountains high, in regal majesty,
Stand watch over plains that stretch below, as far as eyes can see.

Sentinels, stone granite peaks, capped in virgin snow,
From their bosoms to the plains, the snow as rivers flow,
Between the peaks and verdant plains, lay the mountain's valley,
Conduit for the alpine streams, from forth the torrents sally.

In headlong fall down mountain’s side, flows racing mountain brook,
To the valley floor below, from high in heaven’s nook,
Through the foothills to the prairies, does the water flow,
Transforming from a mountain brook, to stream with currents slow.

Beside the gentle flowing stream, a owl to darkness calls,
As moonlight filters through the leaves, and calm of evening falls.
Above the stars of welkin's light, shine in majesty,
Upon the splendor of the plains, beneath night’s canopy.

As hush of evening spreads its dark, the sky erupts ablaze,
A million twinkling stars above, hearken heaven's praise,
Reflected on the plains below, the twinkling of star's lights,
Unfettered wings of angel's grace, I soar into the night.

Hello Tim
It must be beautiful, snow on the mountains.
In Holland we have snow to morrow, I hear it on the Radio. we haven't mountains.
Thank you Tim a nice poem.

You do soar indeed - This does create a wonderful visage... The glory of a sunset acquiescing to the heark of twinkling stars... I'm loving it...
