The Instrument of My Soul

Between the lines,
I can hold time still,
I can place you here in front of me
and have my moment's will.

Soft and tender,
are pressed my hands,
there, to mirror and understand.

Each second played
I can pause the time,
I can place you here in front of me
and feel you in my rhyme.

Soft and tender,
are pressed my hands,
there, to mirror and understand.

Between the line,
I can play the words,
I can sing to you of how I feel
and know I'll not be heard.

Soft and tender,
are pressed my hands,
there, to mirror and understand.
~~*~~

The instrument of my soul is he,
silent words in lines of me.

With hand upon the mirrored face
Wishing to enter in that backwards place
Where time goes backward to yesterday
Run down the reality mainspring’s play
But the surface yields not to the insisting
To fantasy it reflects and is resisting
Finally shatters into many shards
And falls like a house of cards

Upon the mirror, view of face
In backwards time, a once-upon place
Yesterday wished... were tomorrow's
Time ran out, to leave with sorrows
Instinct yielded nothing more
Left in wanting to explore
But understanding lost it's will
When none forthcame, and time stood still.

Always inspiring, Gloom

Thank You Seymour The title came from a friend who has two Russian Students boarding with her and she asked one of them if they sang and he said words were the instrument of his soul... and I thought that a beautiful phrase.

I do it all the time, so I really liked this part!

Do you Duncan?
I am always holding thoughts "Between the Lines" As Alice or as nakdthoughts and always hold court with them in front of me.

(It's the safest way)
