Similar to light
you reflect the blame~

Bouncing back to me
you shed light with your words
upon how you manage to fall
like rainbow
over easy skies
pretending it's me
when its cloudlessy clear you.

I try
but I wont change.
Unlike you
I'm connected to my soul.

Finding what i wish for everyone
and suddenly
I'm an outsider.

Sympathetic
I listen to every word
that rips every effort
every hour of concern
I seem to have mis-used
upon you.

Spilling words,
of such bitter jealousy
If i struck you with similar substance

you~

you would not listen like i do
witholding argument
biting my tongue
because i care too much.

I know why you blame me
feeling such love for you
I cannot strike back
Yet my efforts are wearing
as close to the ground as your heavy heart

Wanting to help you nurse the life
of yours that is painfully
close to death.
Ill through spirit,
you have everything to live for
yet you self inflict upon your soul
and you're starting
to darken mine.

I can't give you what was before
you say~
you can't rely on me
well friend
I most certainly can't rely upon you.

learning each day, for you and i, our paths have met, i've already learnt that you are love.

Hi Gemma
I've missed you. It's good to see you back.
.
This is a very well-written poem, but there seems to be a sadness about it. I hope everything's okay with you....

wanting to bring someone out of darkness,
doing it a few years now, this comes out and speaks volumes from your loving heart

Thankyou so much for your supportive replies.
i'm stuck, a friendship has taken on new form, and its not possible for it to go back to the way it used to be. I'm sick of supporting this person, then being made to feel guilty for being who i am, when all i have is love. I'm feeling like i refuse to have this ache of responsibility for someone elses life for one moment longer. But i cant walk away from someone in need. aaaargh!
sadness indeed. Thanks again.
lots of love, gemma xxxxxx

Gemma,

Well written feelings, and understandable. So hard to stand by and watch someone else not growing and learning more about themselves. I've one such person in my life and it is frightening and heartbreaking, yet, all I can do is be willing to sit side by side or stand next to, but NOT hold them up, such a a crutch,  for they'll fall again....so very difficult to do, and the knowing of when to stand back...

You captured well the situation.

Pat
