the curtain hoardes the heat
that rises to warm my cold bones
greedily tucking it under her skirt
i watch it with a grimace
and sip my scalding tea quietly
letting its searing heat
sooth my cold soul
winter morning chill
removed by a steaming cup
and a fleece warm shirt
waiting for the heat to escape
the curtain's embrace
to unchill the air
as the day wraps me
in what it must
winter mornings come
but never last forever

(simply put... it sure is cold this morning!)

I like this. The last two lines especially. I think you could have left out your "simply put" note, for this can be read a few different ways.

I enjoyed. Think you wrote this well.
