at no time in my life
did i build a dream
that brought me to here
and yet somehow
i have "arrived"

do i sit smug
staring at these achievements
or do i balance my life  in my two hands
in one hold all that i wanted
in the other hold all i have
do i dare think
i'll make it enough
and be content

what then
do i stop dreaming
do i stop striving
for more

should i be content
stop the struggle
to be more
than who i am now

i think that may be death
by a different name

Anne, I really like this. These are some good thoughts to ponder.
I think too often that when people think they've "arrived" above what they expected of themselves, they sort of slack up with their ambition. That's when they either fall back or get passed up by some other ambitious person.....Keep striving, friend, to your highest potential..........Then you won't have regrets about not achieving what you know your capabilities are, like I do.....
