standing on a shadow's lace

For MY Shadow

I tip toe
on the edge
of a shadow
this bond ties
the lacing
of my shoes
his whispers
are soft
as kisses
his words
sometimes become
my muse

I like this. I just assigned my 6th graders to write a free verse about shadows.. I like it.~~
