Do I mean something to you?
Would you notice if I’m gone?
It’s getting harder lately
Just to keep on holding on.

I may have reached the point in time
To give in or give up
Somehow I must have missed my sip
From life’s blessing cup.

I never was a parent,
Failed at being a wife -
Do I really make a difference
In anybody’s life?

My job says I’m dispensable
Don’t know what I’m going to do.
Maybe I’ll just sit here wondering,
Feeling sad and broke and blue.

But I must ask a favor -
Could someone help me please?
I seem to have my share of whine -
Does anyone have cheese?

Would you prefer Raspberry Basil Brie or maybe Smoked Gouda?  Got a really nice aged Asiago, too.

Camembert? Gouda?  Which might then please?
for I am stocked full of all sorts of cheese...
You bring the whine, I'll stock the shelves
with crackers and crumpets, we'll be ourselves...

Let's see just who all can come share...
because I know deep down, they really care!

A "Suthern" belle such as yourself, should be pampered, adored, and honored! It sounds like you have not been getting your due!

This poem actually almost made me cry!--but your "rye" sense of humor at the end was an up-lifting denouement!---and a very clever come hither plea! tehe

Sending you lots of warm hugs and some pineapple cream cheese (that may not be considered a fromage of haute cuisine but I find it very comforting!)

P.S. If you set out another glass of wine, I'd love to join you! Then we can "whine" together!

SEA: Shots would DEFINITELY work! LOL I'd be giggling in no time. *G*

Duncan: The Smoked Gouda, please... AND the Asiago!!! LOL (Did I mention that I'm greedy? LOL)

Seymour: Sweet man, you need bring nothing but yourself... and ear plugs. LOL

Shining One: Just give me directions and I'll be on my way! *G*

EA: I ain't been gettin' nuttin' but threats of unemployment. LOL And as comforts go, that sucks big time. *G* I honestly wasn't intending a "come hither"... just a boot to suthern's butt to keep her from wallowing too deeply. LOL But I've got plenty of glasses and wine as well as whine... bring your hugs and pineapple cream cheese! *G*

Thanks to all of you... I greatly appreciate your indulgence. *S*

Head north,
follow your red nose through the cold...
hang a left on I-70,
and I'll be the one out waving
the white flag!

If it takes cheese
your whine to appease
I fear I am a slacker

for it's so cold here
that it freezes your beer
and the cubbord only holds crackers

but head up this way
if you don't mind a stay
on ice and snow covered sheets

the vodka is chilled
and if your strong willed
we'll drink until we are quackers

How about an hors d'oeuvre,
Ain't they sweet?
Little-piece'a "bleu" cheese,
Little piece'a meat?

Sunshine: But... but... a white flag is for surrender... and hard to see against snow and ice? LOL

Cpat Hair: ROFL...
I do have a strong will
And I get a brief thrill
From the swill of vodka, I must say
And though you lack crackers
I know you're no slacker
But ice covered sheets mean a short stay!

Toerag: You dear. *S*
I'm not one to quibble
'Bout the size of the nibble
It's the tastiness of the treat!
And if I were with you
I would never be "bleu"...
Wanna lunch on some barbecued meat?

I know I can't today
Cuz I don't know when I'll be back
I'm over here in Tibet,
Want some barbecue yak?

(giggles) Sorry, I don't eat cheese (seriously, LOL) but I would be happy to share some flatbread with apple butter or coconut juice with you! (kiss on cheek) I think we all are guilty of whining every no and then, but know things will get better as your golden heart is deserving of this rest, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Suthern, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Toerag, dear, you know that you'd
Make any meal taste sweet
But maybe I'll just sop the sauce
And let you have the meat?
But really... to be near to you
Is all that I could ask...
To look upon your gorgeous face
And in your sweet smiles bask.
So g'head and chow on down
I'll trade my whine for beer
And be a happy suthern gal
Just to know you're near!!

M'toe: Flatbread's good... but no cheese??? LOL I think I'll let you keep the healthy stuff... but I'll lap up every drop of your good wishes... thank you! *S*

sweet lady, I hope you break out of this soon...and never leave us. As upbeat at the ending lines are, I see the pain you've set in place here...it's hard to be at that point in life...I have felt this way for years, and the doc says it's depression.

whatever you do today and tomorrow, if just a simple something different from yesterday, it will be great!

Can't name all the cheese we have
But it made my country famous and all
Come here dear Suthern and take Toe with you
We'll sip wine, eat cheese and have a ball

Suthern Lady...Hi

I love cheese and Florida's not too far from where you are, I'm sure, so maybe we can meet half way?

Besides, I've sure been in a "whine" mood lately, too......That's why I haven't been replying as much lately. I can't seem to get the poetry just right like you do when I'm depressed.

I'm serious, though, about "meeting half-way"......in thoughts, prayers, and friendship. There's lots of folks here in our great big "family of friends" who are willing, I'm sure.

Love and hugs from
Ethel

P.S.  I couldn't think of any cute littel, witty poem to reply with, so I just replied with what's in my heart...I do that best, anyway.....

Ruth, you can share a cup of "whine" with me anytime! It's not good to drink alone, after all!

Yes, you do matter. Life can beat us down, but we always still matter. (((HUGS)))

Suthern beloved heart, yes I’d miss you very very very much, so don’t leave me alone, the nights are too dark and the clouds hang too close.

You steady me when the world goes mad
And the dreams I have make my soul sad
You give me the strength to find my way
When my feet roam and I’m led astray
You give me hope that love shines bright
You lift my soul from the depths of night
And when the thoughts within seem drear
Your voices touch sends back pain’s fear

You are the beacon that speaks to me
The light within you shines clear and free
The pain that falls across my soul won’t stay
You shatter its hold sending it away
The hand you hold out shelters me
From the demons that chase me constantly
It’s your smile that lifts my spirit high
From the depths of hell into a clear sky

If not for you I’d be left in endless rain
Your touch soothes and heals the pain
The sun will shine because you told it too
The sky will be cloudless and ever blue
If there is a reason that I’ll walk on
Its because you lead my soul in song
There’s no reason other than you are you
Your friendship hand is always true

Darling heart you are the reason to the why
The answer to the questions inside the sigh

Marsha

Who moved the cheese away from you?
how could they do that deed to you
it makes me bleu in vein of true
that you have whine, no cheese fondue

I'll bring the cheese I will, I will
and visit you, to laugh until
forgotten blues, you have your fill
of the best of life, not ill.

And if that doesn't save the day
I'll nag Toerag back your way.
